Scope and information
This policy covers the website and requests started here. The form uses your name, date, time, party size and optional notes. These fields, except notes, are required to prepare a request. The website does not create accounts, take payments or submit the form to its own database.
Bookings and messages
Choosing WhatsApp opens its service with the prepared message in the address, disclosing those details to that provider when opened. The restaurant receives your message when you send it. For Instagram, copy the text, open the conversation, then paste and send it yourself. Conversations may include your telephone number, profile name and other platform information. The external service may process technical data before you send a message.
Purposes and legal grounds
Booking requests are handled as pre-contractual steps you request. Other enquiries are answered under our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. Legal obligations, including invoicing, apply where relevant. Optional offline storage requires consent. Contacts are not used for marketing campaigns.
Recipients and external services
The booking team accesses messages. WhatsApp and Instagram are Meta services governed by their privacy policies; they may process data outside the European Economic Area using the transfer mechanisms described there. Map and other website links contact those services only when opened. There are no embedded maps, social feeds, adverts or analytics.
Retention
Form fields are not saved in persistent website storage. Operational booking notes are no longer needed after the service, unless required by law or to deal with an incident. Conversations are retained while needed to follow up the request or resolve the matter; tax documents follow statutory periods. Platforms also apply their own retention policies. Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Withdraw offline consent in “Manage cookies”, without affecting earlier processing. Write to localbygois@gmail.com. We normally respond within one month and explain any lawful extension. You may complain to the Portuguese CNPD. This website does not use automated decision-making or profiling.
Security and browsing
The website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service. The provider processes incoming IP addresses for abuse detection and usage information, retaining this data for a few months according to its privacy documentation. The service may involve international processing under Google’s published safeguards. Do not enter sensitive details in notes. This policy will be updated before new tools or purposes are introduced.
